The coronavirus mask insanity has spread around the country like COVID-19 itself, embraced by mostly mayors, governors, and even some federal tyrants like Sen. Diane Feinstein.

Corporate America’s Left-wing CEOs jumped on the bandwagon too because they’re so afraid of Twitter bots and whining social justice warriors ‘demanding’ they ‘act responsibly’ during a ‘pandemic that’s killing tens of thousands.’

Well, Democrats still want mask mandates but they’re wearing thin, so to speak, in corporate boardrooms: CEOs fear the rising tide of backlash violence against mask mandates more than the bots and the SJWs online.

As The Daily Wire notes

Nearly every day there’s another story about a fight breaking out over the wearing of masks.

Just a couple days ago, a Starbucks barista in California was allegedly punched in the face for asking the customer to put a mask on. And a couple weeks ago, a New York man allegedly assaulted a manager and bartender after being asked to put on a face mask to comply with their COVID-19 safety protocols.

The confrontations have turned deadly. A security guard at a Family Dollar store in Michigan was shot dead in May after he told a customer to wear a mask.

Now, a bunch of big stores are deciding the fight just isn’t worth it.

Retailers including Walmart, Walgreens, Lowe’s, CVS, and Home Depot, along with others, are now dropping their mask policies, saying they want to serve all customers, even those who ‘dare’ to ‘risk it all’ by going mask-less. They have figured out that angry confrontations between customers and store employees are financial losers in the long run.

Now, that said, there are plenty of videos on social media showing employees from smaller shops and businesses refusing service to customers who don’t abide by mask-wearing policies. And of course, there are mask Nazis lurking everywhere because they’ve been brainwashed into believing the cute kitty or bear-face cloth masks sold online are replacements for N95 masks, the only ones rated to actually prevent coronavirus from being inhaled (or exhaled).

It’s not clear what the retailers plan to do, if anything, with mask Nazis. But corporate CEOs clearly have spoken.

Still, “Many retailers feel like they have to act since some governors haven’t,” Melissa Murdock, spokesperson for the Retail Industry Leaders Association, which represents companies such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens and others, said, according to CNN.

But why? There is conflicting evidence regarding mask effectiveness anyway; mandating their use just so someone gets their lights punched out is no solution to a pandemic – all it does is punish customers.

The fact is, anyone claiming ‘you don’t have a right to infect me’ needs to understand they don’t have a right to make your choices. If there are no mask mandates, then there are no mask mandates, period, and that leaves the decision up the individual, as it should be.

If someone is ‘concerned’ they’re going to be infected by a mask-less person, even though they themselves are wearing a mask, that is a tacit admission the things don’t work in the first place.

There’s just no sense in fighting about it, and the country’s retailers seem to be getting that message.
