After months of slandering law enforcement and calls to “defund the police”, the left has suddenly changed their tune now that it is politically advantageous to do so.
Having said that, the liberal media and Democrats in Congress have politicized the tragic death of Capitol Police officers Brian Sicknick, and now his family is speaking out.
Here’s the report from ABC News:
Sicknick’s family said in a statement, “Many details regarding Wednesday’s events and the direct causes of Brian’s injuries remain unknown and our family asks the public and the press to respect our wishes in not making Brian’s passing a political issue.”
While the left wants you to believe that Trump supporters “murdered” Sicknick, the ABC News report tells a different story:
According to sources familiar with the matter, authorities believe Sicknick’s death was driven by a medical condition. They’re also investigating reports that he was attacked with a fire extinguisher or another item at the Capitol, sources said. So far, reports of an attack haven’t been confirmed and authorities are hoping to locate video or other imagery from the scene.
Sicknick, a 42-year-old military veteran, had worked for the Capitol Police for 12 years.
As the NY Post points out, the Democrats in congress ignore the fact that Sicknick was actually a Trump supporter:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described Sicknick’s death as a reminder of the need to “protect our country from all threats, foreign and domestic.” President-elect Joe Biden suggested that whoever backed Trump supports “an all-out assault on our institutions of our democracy.” The day’s violence, it seems, has become an all-purpose excuse to denounce and silence anyone not sufficiently anti-Trump.
Yet neither Biden nor Pelosi reckoned with an uncomfortable fact: Sicknick was a Trump supporter himself, as his friend Caroline Behringer announced shortly after his death. Far from sharing the views of the #Resistance, he had written letters to his congressman opposing Trump’s impeachment.
Let’s continue to pray for his family and hope that the Democrats stop using his death to score political points.
