The FBI couldn’t find a single instance of vote fraud on Election Day or a single crime involving the illegal surveillance of the 2016 Trump campaign and early into President Trump’s term, but now, suddenly, agents are said to have “a number of individuals” under suspicion of allegedly being involved with the Christmas morning bombing in Nashville.

All of which goes to prove that the world’s premier law enforcement agency can act like it when it wants to.

“We can’t confirm any individuals or anybody we’ve identified,” Douglas Korneski,  special agent in charge of the FBI’s Memphis Field Office, told reporters Saturday after he was asked about reports that authorities may have identified a person of interest in the bombing.

“There are a number of individuals that we’re looking at,” he said. “So, at this point, we’re not prepared to identify any single individual.”

Questioned further if the bureau is actively looking for a person, he said, “We don’t have any indication that we are looking for another subject, but, again, there’s 500 leads we’re running through, so there’s all kinds of individuals we’re looking for.”

The Epoch Times added:

Possible human remains were found at the blast site on Friday. Officials are still working on identifying those potential remains. Multiple officials said at the press conference that they believe there is no active threat to Nashville, and that no other detonation devices were discovered in a sweep after the explosion.

“Nashville is safe. We feel and know that we have no known threats at this time against our city, Nashville Police Chief John Drake told the media.

Korneski confirmed that the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit at Quantico is working with agents to try and come up with a better description of the type of person who might be responsible.

“We’re looking at every possible motive that could be involved,” including a possible targeting of the AT&T building in the city, Korneski said.

“I am fairly confident we will be able to identify an individual and ascertain what occurred. It’s going to take some time, but this team behind me, and our folks in the field, we’re very good at what we do.”

Referring to the attacker as the “ultimate Scrooge” – a reference to detonating the bomb on Christmas Day – Cochran described the act as “a cowardly bombing.”

Meantime, a half-dozen NPD officers are being hailed as heroes for going door-to-door to evacuate residents ahead of the blast after they heard a message of an impending blast from an RV that eventually blew up.

Some residents also reported hearing a couple bursts of automatic gunfire ahead of the explosion as well.

“Within like 10 minutes, there was just the most unbelievable explosion that just blew the entire apartment completely to pieces,” witness and resident Buck McCoy said on Fox News’ “Cavuto Live.”

“If I would have been standing, if I would have got up and went out there and said ‘what’s that noise,’ I don’t think I’d be here today, because the blast blew the windows completely into the next room,” he added.
