A recently unearthed video/audio shows MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough joking about an intern found dead in his Florida congressional office with the late radio personality Don Imus in 2003.

In the clip, which was discovered by the Media Research Center, Imus and Scarborough are clowning about the death of intern Lori Klausutis, who died from an apparent head injury in 2001 when Scarborough was a GOP congressman.

Reports at the time noted that Klausutis was found dead at her desk from an undiagnosed heart condition, though friends at the time observed that she was a distance runner.

Her death was eventually ruled as accidental but there were a number of conspiracies that evolved from it, most notably that Scarborough was dating her and that perhaps the relationship had gone bad.

The research center’s unearthed clip is from a May 29, 2003 Imus show where Scarborough is being interviewed via phone and laughs along with the host over the death of Klausutis.

“Don’t be afraid to be funny, because you are funny. You know, I ask you why you won Congress, you said you’d had sex with the intern and then you had to kill her, that’s pretty risky to say,” Imus is seen saying.

“Exactly, what’re you gonna do,” Scarborough is heard replying, laughing.

Scarborough has regularly battled back and forth with President Trump over the issue, with the president repeatedly bringing up his dead intern.

The president has tweeted that authorities ought to conduct an investigation into the incident.

During a May 4 segment, however, Scarborough called the president’s tweets and mentions of Klausutis “extraordinarily cruel, but the host obviously laughed off her death just a couple of years after it happened.
