Former Secretary Of Defense "Mad Dog" Mattis Enlists As Attack Dog For Democrats

The Resistance is bringing out all of the big guns as the war on President Trump goes hot with former secretary of defense James "Mad Dog" Mattis now opening fire on his one-time boss.

Democrats, celebs and the media have given rioters and looters a free pass to run amok and have suspended social distancing mandates for mass national protests against Trump; this time disguised as justice for George Floyd, the black man killed by a rogue cop.

Despite the abundance of evidence that the "peaceful" protesters were burning and ransacking cities, the establishment has used a unified voice to decry the president's use of the National Guard and military to restore order.

In a statement published by fascist megaphone The Atlantic, the retired Marine Corps general lashed out against Trump who he accused of being "a threat to the Constitution" for moving decisively to quell the unrest.

Via Yahoo News, "Gen. Mattis says he’s 'angry and appalled' at Trump's response to protests":

President Trump’s former Secretary of Defense James Mattis, who resigned last year, spoke out against his ex-boss for the first time Wednesday, saying he is “angry and appalled” at the White House’s response to the protests over the death of George Floyd.

“When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution,” Mattis said in a statement emailed to reporters. “Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the Constitutional rights of their fellow citizens — much less to provide a bizarre photo op for the elected commander-in-chief, with military leadership standing alongside.”

He continued: “Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people — does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership.”

So much for Semper Fi.

Mattis resigned in 2018 after repeatedly butting heads with Trump over a foreign policy that the retired general did not feel was aggressive enough in areas nor sufficiently deferential to chiseling NATO allies; the final straw was a hissy fit over the commander in chief's refusal to escalate in Syria.

As is standard operating precedure with Trump, he didn't take kindly to being stabbed in the back in such a public manner by a disgruntled former employee and launched his own airstrike against the Democrats' new attack dog.

Trump's nuclear-tipped Twitter dart:

"Probably the only thing Barack Obama & I have in common is that we both had the honor of firing Jim Mattis, the world’s most overrated General. I asked for his letter of resignation, & felt great about it. His nickname was “Chaos”, which I didn’t like, & changed to “Mad Dog”...

..His primary strength was not military, but rather personal public relations. I gave him a new life, things to do, and battles to win, but he seldom “brought home the bacon”. I didn’t like his “leadership” style or much else about him, and many others agree. Glad he is gone!"

That two of Mattis' top lobbyists for him getting the SECDEF job were John McCain and Lindsey Graham speaks volumes.

Following his cowardly attack on President Trump, Mattis has earned universal praise from the likes of congressional Democrats, Resistance media figures, celebs and even communists like Bernie Sanders.

Mad dog or D.C. lapdog?
