The Kentucky Derby had already been postponed once due to mass hysteria over the coronavirus and on Saturday, far-left militants who were attempting to cancel it for good suffered a severe setback.

The 146th edition of the classic horse race was never really in question despite a show of force by the Marxist-influenced Black Lives Matter movement and a heavily armed black militia and despite empty stands, the event took place as scheduled.

However, the presence of the group which goes by the name of the “Not F**king Around Coalition” in full paramilitary garb and armed to the teeth is an ominous sign for a nation that is reeling from Democrat-sanctioned mob violence.

The group which openly espouses black supremacism was a menacing presence that has complete disregard for police and may only have been kept in check by patriots who were also armed.

Calls to cancel the Kentucky Derby were made to protest the death of Breonna Taylor, a black woman who was killed by police who were executing a series of drug raids and who has become a cause célèbre to BLM activists and professional sports athletes.

Both “peaceful” protesters and their armed muscle gathered and marched on the track at Louisville’s historic Churchill Downs.

Via USA Today, “Hundreds demanding justice for Breonna Taylor converge on Churchill Downs during Kentucky Derby”:

After 101 days of demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, hundreds of protesters converged outside Churchill Downs Saturday evening during the 146th Kentucky Derby, which ran without spectators due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Local activists, church leaders, demonstrators with social justice organization Until Freedom and members of the group the Not F***ing Around Coalition gathered outside the racetrack fences, chanting “Say her name: Breonna Taylor.” The group called for justice for the shooting death of Taylor during a police raid and for the Derby to be canceled.

Several police officers stood inside the fence.

A banner saying “Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor” flew behind a plane overhead just a few minutes before the Kentucky Derby race was set to begin.

Inside Churchill Downs, there was a moment of silence for “inequities,” while at the same time protesters outside chanted Breonna Taylor’s name.

Marcia Lawhorn, born and raised in Louisville, said it’s a good thing to distract people from the Kentucky Derby.

“Horses and money is not more important than a life and a cause and equality and things like that, and if y’all can spend millions to billions on the Derby, start bringing things to our city to help us,” Lawhorn said.

State and local officials have so far refused to bow to the demands of the mob to arrest and prosecute the cops who shot Taylor, largely because there is little chance that they will be convicted due to the fact that the victim’s boyfriend fired the first shots.

Like George Floyd and Jacob Blake who have also become martyrs to the BLM cause, Breonna Taylor’s story is much more complicated than it has been portrayed and her relationship with individuals targeted by police in the drug raids likely led to her own undoing.

As for the race, the “fastest two minutes in sports” underdog Authentic upset the heavily favored Tiz in what was a resounding defeat for the cancel culture mob.
