In case you haven’t heard, Democratic leaders in the House have prioritized the manner in which members are ‘allowed’ to refer to themselves in terms of gender identification over the COVID-19 pandemic, national security, or getting to the bottom of election fraud this year.

Because calling someone ‘him’ or ‘her’ or ‘grandma’ or ‘auntie’ is so wrong in the newly ‘woke’ Democrat Party, it simply must be dealt with first.

But like everything Democrats too, this rule change, proposed as part of the 117th Congress, has already sparked no small amount of hypocrisy.

The Daily Caller has more:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced a resolution calling for the elimination of gendered terms for the 117th Congress Friday, but the California Democrat still has the terms “mother” and “grandmother” in her Twitter bio.

Pelosi and Democratic Massachusetts Rep. James McGovern announced a resolution Friday intended to “honor all gender identities” by modifying pronouns in the House rules and references to family relations, such as father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister. These words would be changed to “parent, child, sibling, spouse, or parent-in-law,” according to the resolution.

As of 1:30 pm Saturday, her profile said, “Speaker of the House, focused on strengthening America’s middle class and creating jobs; mother, grandmother, dark chocolate connoisseur.”

For the record, the resolution would change “pronouns and familial relationships in the House rules to be gender-neutral or removes references to gender, as appropriate, to ensure we are inclusive of all Members, Delegates, Resident Commissioners and their families – including those who are nonbinary,” the announcement said.

Changes include “seamen” to “seafarers,” “chairman” to “chair” and “submit his or her resignation” to resigns. Also, references to mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, and all in-laws are to be changed to “parent, child, sibling, spouse, or parent-in-law.

And this all-important change will probably pass because lunatics — Democrats — remained in charge of the House after the November elections, albeit with a very thin majority.

Republican women, meanwhile, are chortling at the insanity.

“Instead of reviving the economy, restoring our Constitutional freedoms and delivering results for the American people, Speaker Pelosi has chosen her debut legislation — which would ban words like mother, sister and daughter,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), told the New York Post Saturday.

“Obviously she is triggered by the historic number of GOP women elected to Congress who will fire Nancy Pelosi once and for all in 2022,” she added.

New York GOP Rep.-elect Nicole Malliotakis also riffed on the rule change.

“There are millions of Americans suffering, our economy is hurting, vaccine distribution is lagging and Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats are worried about this nonsense,” she said, according to The Post. “Here’s a gender neutral word to describe this legislation: ridiculous.”

And Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) also mocked the proposal.

“The far-left’s priorities, everyone. If you’d like to still be able to call yourself a father, daughter, mother or son, vote for me and @Perduesenate on Tuesday,” she tweeted Saturday. “Sincerely, A Proud Daughter.”
