In the name of “health,” Krispy Kreme will give you a free daily donut this entire year if you get vaccinated – just in case you needed more motivation to care for your “well-being.”

The Covid-19 virus is so deadly that people with an interest for eating donuts every single day are now being bribed by the donut company. Starting this Monday, any customer with a valid Covid-19 vaccination card will receive a free Original Glazed Donut at participating locations throughout the entire country. Guests who have received the Johnson & Johnson shot, or one out of two of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine shots, qualify for the sugary promotion.

Krispy Kreme said in a press release that it wants to support healthcare workers and volunteers who are administering the vaccines by providing them with free doughnuts in vaccination centers across the country. The company is also giving employees 4 hours of paid time off to get the vaccine.

Take a look at these promotional images from their website:

While the iconic shop distributes daily donuts to vaccinated guests, a study by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that obesity significantly increases the risk of hospitalization and death among those who contract the virus. Will the vaccine counteract this better than a good exercise regime and healthy habits?

David Skena, the Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme said in a statement “we all want to get COVID-19 behind us as fast as possible and we want to support everyone doing their part to make the country safe by getting vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to them.”

A number of other companies, including McDonalds and Trader Joe’s are offering similar policies.

So far, the US has vaccinated more than 35 million people, around 10.5% of the US population. The Biden administration, estimates that it will have enough doses available to vaccinate every adult by May. Experts are also hoping they will have shots available for children by early 2022.
