Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar’s despicable comparison of the United States and Israel to terrorist groups Hamas and the Taliban has resulted in a torrent of criticism, including from a very unlikely source.
Hamas issued an unprecedented rebuke of one of its top allies in the U.S. Congress in a statement that criticized the Squad member for lumping it in with its hated enemies. The remark was viewed as an insult by the terrorist organization which called it “very peculiar”.

Omar’s tweet accused the U.S. and Israel of “crimes against humanity” and “unthinkable atrocities,” while making the equivalence to Islamist extremists in Hamas and the Taliban. This followed her grilling of Joe Biden’s weakling Secretary Of State Antony Blinken.
We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity.

Omar never could have imagined that her tweet would rattle Hamas’ cage but it did.

In a press release that was also put out in English, Hamas slammed Omar, “The remarks made by US congresswoman Ilhan Omar are very peculiar; she equated between the victim and the executioner when she treated the resistance of the Palestinian people, the Israeli crimes in Palestine, and the US aggression in Afghanistan as an equal footing.”
While the terrorist group acknowledged the usefulness of Omar’s support, it bristled at what it called an “unfair comparison” by the House Foreign Affairs Committee member, “Hamas highly appreciates Omar’s stances in support of justice and the rights of the oppressed around the world, foremost among them is the just rights of the Palestinian people. However, it is unacceptable to make such an unfair comparison, which contradicts with basic norms of justice and international law,” stated Hamas.
It was only a few short weeks ago when Omar and her fellow Squad members were parroting Hamas talking points. Their comments came after Israel took out a twelve-story building in Gaza that housed the group’s offices as well as those of propaganda organizations AP and Al Jazeera.
The fallout also included a dozen Jewish House Democrats who have clearly had enough of Omar’s rhetoric. After all, it has contributed to the horrifying sight of Jews being attacked on the streets of Biden’s America.
In a statement put out by the twelve Dems led by Rep. Brad Schneider of Illinois, the group requested that she “clarify” her reprehensible remarks. Omar responded by accusing them of being Islamaphobes.

Nancy Pelosi quickly quashed any notion that Omar would be held accountable, perhaps by stripping her of her seat on the powerful Foreign Affairs Committee. However, Madame Speaker once again delivered a resounding message that anti-Semites are welcome in the Democratic party. At least, under the pretense of diversity.

When asked by a reporter whether Omar would be made to pay a price, Pelosi said, “No, no I don’t, no, no I don’t..” she said, adding, “I think that she clarified her remarks and that was uh uh…that we accept that and uh…she, she, she has a point that she wanted to make and she has a right to make that point and there was some unease about how it was interpreted, she made her clarification.”
But the damage may already be done with a split widening within the House between those who are mere radicals and those who are flaming anti-Semites. Even worse for Omar, she may be losing support with the actual terrorists who may see her as a loose cannon who has become a liability.
