Major League Baseball was badly burned when the league unwisely chose to move the annual All-Star Game out of Atlanta after being pressured by Joe Biden.

Democrats and their activist shock troops threw a massive temper tantrum after Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed a new election integrity law in order to restore voter confidence after November’s irregularity-ridden debacle leading to demands to punish the state.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred crumbled after Biden went on ESPN where he lied about the Georgia law which he said was “Jim Crow on steroids” on the night before the season opener. Two days later, the game was yanked from heavily black Atlanta and relocated to predominantly white Denver.

The decision infuriated conservatives who more than any major sports league represent the largest percentage of baseball fans. According to a Morning Consult poll, ratings have already collapsed with Republicans by 35 percent.

Now, in a curious decision, MLB has chosen to survey fans on their political affiliation, possibly to assess the damage to their brand among conservatives who like other sports that went “woke” are choosing to tune out in great numbers or for more sinister reasons.

Either way, it isn’t going to do much to address the self-inflicted damage for bending the knee over the Georgia election integrity law and such an intrusive question may even contribute to MLB’s woes.

According to a report by The National Review; “The question about political affiliation is part of the extensive fan surveys MLB is conducting this year around the ballpark experience, which the league says is to gain knowledge about fan perceptions, preferences, and behaviors during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“MLB says the information will be used to determine broad trends, and insists that the results of the surveys – which are sent via email – aren’t tied to any individual accounts. The surveys can be completed without answering the political affiliation question.” According to the report.

While the league claims that it has been conducting similar surveys for three years, questioning “fans about their experiences at the ballpark, including their experiences buying tickets, entering the park, buying food and merchandise, and customer service,” the addition of the question about political affiliation is concerning in a time when Trump supporters are under attack by the one-party government and are having their social media activity monitored by the Post Office.

In a statement provided to TNR, the league states that:

“The research has shown that a person’s self-identified political affiliation often impacts their views about the pandemic, and therefore respondents’ views regarding returning to the ballpark,“Since we are in the midst of the pandemic, this is valuable information for our clubs to understand the views of their fans about attending games.”

There are serious questions about exactly what is being done with the survey information and the data about political affiliation, especially at a time when the Biden regime is mounting a major push to mass vaccinate the entire population.

Considering the degree of hostility toward Trump supporters who have been smeared as racists, white supremacists, insurrectionists, and even terrorists by the Democrats, media, and federal law enforcement agencies, it is extremely troubling that political affiliation questions are being asked by a league that has gone “woke” and is clearly influenced by leftist ideology.
