Democrats are starting to panic about California Governor Gavin Newsom’s recall and their blatant racism is on full display.
The LA Times has run a racist hit piece on recall front runner and Republican Larry Elder, warning that he is “the black face of white supremacy.”
“Larry Elder is the Black Face of White Supremacy. You’ve Been Warned,” read the title of the article.
Read an excerpt of the racist article below:
Larry Elder smiled the smug smile of a Black conservative who could very well be liberal California’s next governor.
“Where do you start with the damage Gavin Newsom has done to the state that we both love?”
He leaned forward to gaze across the room of white Republicans who had come to a hear him speak in Orange County.
“Rising crime? (It’s) because of this phony narrative that the police are engaging in systemic racism and cops are pulling back,” Elder said. “… When you reduce the possibility of a bad guy getting caught, getting convicted and getting incarcerated, guess what? Crime goes up.”
Then another smile, this one even more smug than the last.
“Can you say, ‘Duh?’”
I won’t lie. Few things infuriate me more than watching a Black person use willful blindness and cherry-picked facts to make overly simplistic arguments that whitewash the complex problems that come along with being Black in America.
Democrats are in all out panic mode as the recall effort gains steam. Last weekend, Newsom admitted that Elder could replace him as California’s governor.
Newsom, who is facing harsh scrutiny for his failed COVID-19 pandemic response, made the comments at a campaign stop at a Mexican resturaunt.
“Though we defeated Trump, we didn’t defeat Trumpism. Trumpism is still alive and well, even here in the state of California,” Newsom said, trying to pin his failures on Trump and his allies. “If you don’t believe me, just consider … the likely person to enter an oath of office, to enter in the governor’s office in just a matter of weeks if we don’t reject this recall.”
“Don’t think for a second that this recall is not about all of you,” the governor continued. “It’s about each and every one of us and the values we hold dear.”
Newsom’s approval ratings are slipping as the recall effort gains steam.
“The latest Emerson College and Nexstar Media’s ‘Inside California Politics’ poll shows support for the effort to oust Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom has grown in recent weeks as the state has experienced an increase in COVID-19 transmission,” The Daily Wire reported.
The poll “found support for the recall at 46%, up from 43% in the previous poll from July 20, two weeks ago. However, 48% said they opposed the recall, and 6% of likely voters are undecided, pollsters found, adding that the number of undecided voters had fallen 3%.”
“Newsom’s approval rating fell from 49% last month to 48% in the current poll. In addition, 42% said they disapproved of Newsom’s job performance, while 10% were unsure or had no opinion,” The Daily Wire continued.
