Just when we thought the liberal mainstream media could not stoop any lower, they find a way to outdo themselves.
During a segment over the weekend on MSNBC, Alexander Heffner, host of PBS show called The Open Mind, seemed to suggest that President Donald Trump should be prosecuted for the “mass murder” of the 150,000 Americans lost to COVID-19.
Heffner argued that “if we had an actual attorney general in this country,” he would be “prosecuting” Trump and complicit Republicans for “the malfeasance, the negligence, the homicide, the mass murder.”
After host Al Sharpton read a tweet, which he characterized as showing Trump “fighting with his own health experts,” Heffner replied.

“Yeah, he’s done that from the beginning. I mean, the scientific illiteracy has immobilized our country. It’s made it impossible to comprehensively assault the medical crisis. You know, in your prior segment, you were discussing the attorney general. If we had an actual attorney general in this country, he would be, or she would be, investigating and prosecuting the malfeasance, the negligence, the homicide, the mass murder — it’s gotten to a point with over 150,000 American souls gone that it’s not just inexcusable, it’s genocidal. It’s mania. And I think that the Senate candidates that you referenced are going to be campaigning for the health and well-being of their citizens. And life and death ought not be a partisan issue, but we’ve discovered it is now,” Heffner theatrically claimed.
A Leftist like Heffner accusing Trump — or anyone — of partisanship over the virus — or anything — is laugh-out-loud ridiculous. The Democrat Party and its “mainstream media” sock puppets on CNN, PMSNBC, and elsewhere have done their petty, partisan best to whip the American public into a COVID frenzy from the beginning.
I often wonder if Trump sometimes fires off provocative tweets for the express purpose of tweaking the already pinched-up TDS-riddled Democrats and their liberal media mouthpieces. In either case, his concern about mail-in ballots in not unfounded.
As for PBS, the battle against taxpayer funding for the left-leaning network has been going on for years. Count Trump among those who have called for an end to federal funding for both PBS and NPR.
If nothing else, Trump has been consistent, calling for an end to funding in 2017, 2018, 2019, and again, this year. In each case, the Left nearly lost its collective mind, decrying everything from a threat to the demise of Big Bird to censorship of public discourse.
Just consider the lunacy of that entire segment.
A PBS host goes on MSNBC and flat-out declares that the president of the United States should probably be prosecuted for murder.
And Sharpton, the host of the MSNBC program, didn’t push back one bit.
