On Friday, another co-founder of the anti-Trump super PAC the Lincoln Project stepped down as scandals continue to devour an organization that was held in the highest of esteem by the corrupt media.

Steve Schmidt, who was a top political strategist for John McCain’s doomed 2008 presidential campaign, resigned amid mounting questions about the organization’s use of money raised through fundraising as well as the coverup of another co-founder’s sexual harassment of young males.

Co-founder John Weaver was outed as a predator after being accused by over 20 men who claim that he offered jobs and financial assistance in exchange for sex. Weaver also worked for failed GOP presidential candidate John Kasich.

Schmidt’s resignation comes after scrutiny over his 2019 purchase of a $1.4 home in Utah that he is now trying to flip for $2.9 million, according to a report by Fox News.

He also played the victim card, claiming that he was molested as a young teen when he was in the Boy Scouts.

Via Fox News, “Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt resigns”:

“Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt resigned from the embattled anti-Trump organization Friday night, claiming he did so to “make room for the appointment of a female board member as the first step to reform and professionalize the Lincoln Project.”

“Presently, the Lincoln Project is made up of four middle-aged white men. That composition does not reflect our nation, nor our movement. I am resigning my seat on the Lincoln Project board to make room for the appointment of a female board member as the first step to reform and professionalize the Lincoln Project,” Schmidt said in a statement.

Axios was first to report on Schmidt’s exit, which follows an exodus of senior staff since the Associated Press and New York magazine ran bombshell reports indicating that leadership at The Lincoln Project were aware of at least ten sexual harassment allegations against co-founder John Weaver in June 2020. Two of those allegations involved Lincoln Project employees and were communicated to leadership after Schmidt and other colleagues denied having any knowledge of Weaver’s behavior.

Ironically, Schmidt’s resignation came on the birthday of the group’s namesake Abe Lincoln.

The mass exodus from the suddenly radioactive Lincoln Project includes longtime Trump antagonist George Conway and Jennifer Horn.

Still onboard is the Rick Wilson, one of the most corrupt political operatives in modern U.S. history as well as a rat who is determined to go down with the ship.

The scandals that are devouring the Lincoln Project raise questions about the media’s lack of scrutiny from such a dubious collection of swamp creatures whose ability to cash in on the anti-Trump hysteria would have raised numerous red flags.
