Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, plans to go hog hunting and has extended an invitation to other people. Greene is seen carrying a firearm while walking in the direction of the camera in a video that was uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday.
Greene, who is standing in front of a helicopter in the video, is heard saying, “We’ve got sky-rocketing inflation, high diesel fuel, and Democrats’ America last policies.” She then goes on to say that “Democrats aren’t the only ones harming the capacity of farmers to put food on the table.“
Greene brought attention to the fact that feral pigs are causing damage to farmers’ farms. After that, the video shows Greene shooting at wild hogs from the helicopter, and then later, she poses for a photo with one of the animals that she killed.
Greene urges, “Let’s do what we can to assist our nation’s farmers.” After that, the congresswoman encourages viewers to sign up for a chance to win by following the link that is provided in the video.
After the video was made public, Marjorie Taylor Greene issued a lengthy Twitter thread in which she fired back at The Huffington Post for publishing an article with the title “Marjorie Taylor Greene Likens Dems To Hogs, Wants Help Shooting Them Dead.” The article was in response to Greene’s video, as though she asked people to help her kill Democratic politicians.
She sent out a tweet that read, “I demand you immediately that you change this headline and your lies about me. Your freedom of press is not freedom to lie about me. I NEVER said anything like this and did NOT call for violence on Democrats.”
Greene continued by saying, “Lee Moran, your political activist posing as a journalist writing for your hard left political blog, should be dismissed immediately for such a falsehood.” Greene was directing her comments towards the author of the piece. “Your editor should be fired for using his position to green light such atrocious lies and character assassinations against me.”
Greene vented her fury over political hacks in the media that lie about Republicans every single day. “You don’t get to lie about me and many of my colleagues calling us Nazis, fascists, and any other nasty label you type up and get away with it.”
“There is not a single Republican that has ever aligned themselves with Nazism, fascism, Marxism, socialism, communism, or any other horrific political theory,” she said. “But I can’t say the same about Democrats, Hollywood elites, or the media. Your projection is starting to become obvious.”
Greene asked this question as a way to conclude her thread. “Does the United States of America have any journalist of such high character and moral ethics who can resist the powerful temptation to lie, abusing their power as members of the free press in order to serve their political party?”
She continued by responding to her own question by saying that unfortunately, we do not.
