House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked a question about the attacks that have been happening on crisis pregnancy centers all over the country during a press conference on Thursday, which she dodged like Neo from The Matrix, going full bullet time by saying she’s “a very Catholic person.”

What in the heck does that have to do with anything? Pelosi can squawk all day long about being a Catholic but considering that one core tenet of their belief system is being pro-life, it would seem she’s one in name only.

There have been major arson attacks and acts of vandalism at crisis pregnancy centers across the United States, all of which have occurred over the course of the last month, which is when the draft opinion from the Supreme Court was leaked indicating that Roe v. Wade would soon be overturned.

Many Republicans in Congress have been urging the Department of Justice to open up investigations into these acts of what should be considered domestic terrorism, however, the official who would more than likely be tasked with looking into these incidents has a rather lengthy record of calling crisis pregnancy centers “predatory” and “harmful.”

When asked about the centers, Pelosi declined to condemn the attacks and pivoted to her own support for legalized abortion. Pelosi voted in September 2021 for the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would legalize abortion up to the moment of birth and eliminate conscience protections for doctors and nurses who would refuse to perform abortions,” the Daily Caller reported.

“Let me just say this: a woman has a right to choose, to live up to her responsibility. It is up to her, her doctor, her family, her husband, her significant other and her God. This talk of politicizing all of this is something uniquely American and not right. Other countries, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, have had legislative initiatives to expand a woman’s right to choose. Very Catholic countries. I’m a very Catholic person, and I believe in a woman’s right to make her own decisions,” she answered.

Pelosi tapped danced around that question like her name was Danny Kaye. Who knew she was so talented? Guess we learn something new every day.

The House Speaker then went on to issue a defense of her own support of expanding legalized abortion by saying that the Catholic Church should not have a place in determining U.S. law.

“Whatever I agree with the popes on is not necessarily what public policy should be in the U.S., as people make their own judgments, honor their own responsibilities, and tend to the needs of their families,” she went on to say in response to an additional question concerning whether or not she agrees with popes John Paul II and Francis that abortion is an act of murder.

On this particular point, these two popes are right on the money. Abortion is indeed murder. And since it’s the slaughter of a human being, it should be banned and potentially prosecuted as a crime.

No one has the right to murder someone, no matter how small they are.
