It was bound to happen.
The more radical Left-wing mayors, city councils, and district attorneys pound on, blame, scapegoat, and toss their police officers under the bus, the more likely it becomes that cops abandon their jobs and their cities and leave their respective communities at the hands of violent anarchists.
Timeline: Atlanta, where reports claim that scores of police officers have either developed the “blue flu” (massive call-ins for fake ‘sickness’) or are on the job but failing to answer most calls out of fear they’ll be the next ones sacrificed at the altar of Black Lives Matter by a racist DA who just filed murder charges against one of their brothers for defending himself.

Atlanta Police spokesperson Sgt. John Chafee claimed Wednesday that suggestions that multiple officers from each of the department’s zones had walked off the job were “inaccurate” but that “the department is experiencing a higher than usual number of call outs with the incoming shift.”
WXIA-TV added that Chafee’s “statement comes as rumors grow online about reports of officers walking out of certain zones and officers not answering the radio.”
NBC News producer Charlie Gile wrote on Twitter that Police Union Representative Vince Champion commented on the claims.
Specifically, “ATL Police Union spokeman [sic] Vince Champion tells me that officers around the city are protesting the charges announced against officers Rolfe and Brosnan. He says they’re walking off the job, not responding to calls unless backup is needed, and going silent on the radios.”
“This is not an organized thing, it’s not a blue flu, it’s not a strike, it’s nothing like that. What it actually is is officers protesting that they’ve had enough and they don’t want to deal with it any longer,” says Champion, according to Gile.
Brendan Keefe, chief investigator at WXIA, said Wednesday evening that he was monitoring the police band for Zone 6 in Atlanta and there were long periods of silence, indicating that no one was around or answering calls.
As you can hear in the audio clip, the dispatcher is attempting to raise any police unit for a “Code 69” – which is a person with a gun.
This comes after Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard charged fired police officer Garret Rolfe with murdering 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks after the suspect violently resisted officers who tried to arrest him for drunk driving after failing a field sobriety test.

During the ensuing fight, the other officer, Devin Brosnan, suffered a concussion after being slugged by Brooks, who then proceeded to steal an officer’s taser and run away. As Brooks ran, he turned to possibly fire the taser at Rolfe, who then shot the suspect out of fear for his safety.
And for that, he’s been charged with murder – by a DA who just charged six Atlanta cops with aggravated assault after pulling two George Floyd demonstrators from a vehicle June 1. Two of those officers have already been fired.
Clearly, Atlanta PD’s rank-and-file have had enough of the lack of support. And this stuff is only going to get worse as departments around the country led by Left-wing Democrats virtue-signal to the outrage mob rather than back their officers who are right in 99 percent of cases.
