Following the two Georgia U.S. Senate run-off elections both going to the Democratic candidates, it appeared the left had an open road ahead of them to radically change America into a socialist state.
Unfortunately for the far left, President Biden’s job performance has been so poor, that the small amount of political capital he had to get things done, has evaporated.
As a result, President Biden’s social and climate spending bill is making zero progress in the Senate, where Democratic holdout Joe Manchin said Tuesday there are “no discussions” going on about reviving it. Democrats may have to seriously trim their ambitions in the future to try to get Manchin’s vote, essential to pass the filibuster-proof spending bill in a 50-50 Senate.
Manchin has also given no indications that he would be willing to revise the filibuster rule in order to pass the American Voter Fraud Bill (HR1) the Democrats have been trying desperately to pass in order to allow them to rig every election from now until the end of time.
The West Virginia Democrat bluntly dismissed talk of progress from other members of his party over the last couple of weeks and made clear he’s tired of discussing the $1.7 trillion proposal which focuses on education, climate action, health care, taxes, and child care.
“I’m really not going to talk about Build Back Better because I think I’ve been very clear on that. There is no negotiation going on at this time,” Manchin told reporters outside his office.
One of the provisions of the bill would make ballot harvesting legal in all 50 states and if you have been paying attention to the ballot harvesting scandal in Georgia, you can see how dangerous that would be.
The only real hope we have of avoiding that is Kyrsten Sinema. She doesn’t get rattled by confrontation from her party and if she were forced to switch parties, she would do fine. This is especially true since Democrats in Arizona plan on putting up a primary opponent against her with their full support.
Manchin was asked about using the nuclear option to pass a new voting bill.
He replied:
“[I’ve] always been for rules [changes] being done the way we’ve always done them, two-thirds of members voting, and any way you can do a rules change to where everyone is involved, and basically that’s a rule that usually will stay, that’s what we should be pursuing. [We’re] still having ongoing conversations as far as voting because I think the bedrock of democracy is making sure that you’re able to cast a vote. If you’re legal, of age, and a United States citizen, you should be able to cast a vote, and it should be counted accurately. So we’re talking about those things there.”
A Biden administration official said they would not “comment about any individual member, but we continue to be engaged with a wide range of senators about advancing the President’s Build Back Better” plan.
He has given himself plenty of room to maneuver. He could negotiate with Biden like he did on Build back better and this time he could surrender without losing face.
Only time will tell America.
