Now that former Vice President Joe Biden’s forced mask decree is being enforced by federal authorities, it will increasingly fall to Republican governors to assert states’ rights in order to protect their citizens from tyranny.
The Biden regime means business when it comes to Americans being forced to wear masks, and the TSA’s new power to issue fines to violators is another sign that our freedom is being eroded.
Thankfully, Iowa Republican governor Kim Reynolds has decided that it’s time to fight back against Biden’s orders. On Friday, Reynolds moved to relax the current orders under the state’s public emergency to rescind the mask mandate as well as relax requirements for social distancing.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds will lift the state’s limited mask requirement on Sunday, along with the social distancing requirements and other COVID-19 mitigation measures she had in place for businesses and social gatherings.
Many states had already mask mandates for months before Reynolds ordered Iowans to wear masks in certain social settings in November. According to reports, 36 states still require people to wear masks, although North Dakota’s requirement expired last month and Mississippi’s mandate only covers counties with high virus infection rates.
Reynolds latest coronavirus emergency proclamation, issued Friday afternoon and effective 12:01 a.m. Sunday, instead “strongly encourages Iowans, businesses and organizations to take reasonable public health measures consistent with guidance from the Iowa Department of Public Health,” Reynolds’ spokesperson, Pat Garrett, said in an email.
A news release from Reynolds’ office did not explain why she is relaxing the restrictions.

The end of the mask mandates along with relaxing social distancing comes just in time for Sunday’s Super Bowl game between Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the defending NFL champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Governor Reynolds’ surprise decision was greeted by a mixed response from Hawkeye State residents and while many rejoiced, she was quickly undercut by subordinates.

Lina Tucker Reinders, who serves as executive director of the Iowa Public Health Association criticized the governor’s decision.
According to Reinders: “I don’t think it’s a good idea, to put it bluntly, we’re not out of the pandemic yet.”
Reynolds’ lifting of the mask mandate is a gesture of defiance to the seat of one-party rule in Washington D.C. and specifically a big middle finger to Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Centers For Disease Control which has been imbued with extra-constitutional powers since last year.
Both Fauci and the CDC have called for Americans to refrain from attending parties for the Super Bowl and if they did get together, they should wear masks, refrain from drinking beer and avoid chanting, cheering, and clapping.
While Governor Reynolds will be vilified by the media for her decision, many governors in the blue states have been relaxing their own restrictions on bars and restaurants now that lunchbucket Joe has been successfully installed into the White House.
