On Thursday, Fox News announced that they would be adding former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to the Fox News team as a political commentator.
“Fox News has been the number one news organization in the country for 17 years running and I am beyond proud to join their incredible stable of on-air contributors in providing political insights and analysis,” Sanders announced in a statement.
In June of 2018 Sanders stepped down as press secretary, saying how grateful she was for the opportunity.
“This has been the honor of a lifetime, the opportunity of a lifetime,” Sanders said. “I couldn’t be prouder to have had the opportunity to serve my country and particularly to work for this president. He has accomplished so much in these two and a half years, and it’s truly been something I will treasure forever.”
The former Press Secretary will now be joining “Fox and Friends” as a commentator. Check out what Fox News had to say:
The 37-year-old will provide political commentary and analysis to Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, Fox News Digital, Fox Nation and the radio/podcast division.
Sanders will make her debut on “Fox & Friends” on Sept. 6.
Sanders served as the White House press secretary for President Trump from July 2017 through June 2019, making her the third woman and first mom to ever hold the position. She previously joined the administration as deputy press secretary in January 2017 after working as a senior adviser for Trump’s election campaign.
Sanders is the daughter of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who is a Republican and a former presidential candidate, and worked in leadership roles for U.S. senators, governors, and presidential campaigns.
In Arkansas, Sanders was a senior adviser to Sen. Tom Cotton in 2014, when he defeated incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor, and was campaign manager for Sen. John Boozman in 2010 when he defeated incumbent Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln.
In 2007 and 2008, Sanders helped lead Gov. Huckabee to victory in the Iowa caucuses and seven other states as his national political director.
Sanders has a pretty impressive resume considering she has accomplished quite a lot for her age. Fox News continues:
Beyond politics, Sanders has advised major Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits, including serving as manager of the ONE Campaign, a global nonprofit founded by U2’s Bono to take action to end extreme poverty and preventable disease.
In 2010, she was named one of TIME Magazine’s “40 under 40.”
Sanders lives with her husband and three young children in Little Rock, Ark.
Since Donald Trump entered the political arena, there has been many people who have overlapped between the Trump administration and Fox News.

Trump has an affinity for Fox News, and his administration and campaign team have ties to the network.
He previously hired former Fox News executive Bill Shine as communications director. Shine left that post earlier this year and joined an outside group supporting President Trump’s reelection campaign.
Hope Hicks worked as Trump’s communications director prior to Shine and now works in a similar role for Fox Corporation.
Former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle is also working with the Trump campaign and is dating Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr.
