Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has rejected an invitation from the Texas governor to tour the U.S-Mexico border. This rejection comes after he publicly decried that the inundation of migrants would affect everyone’s block and asked for everyone’s understanding and support.
The New York City Mayor had implored the public on Sunday to prepare for change as the influx will be evident in schools, hospitals, and infrastructure all around the city. This imminent inundation is due to the immigrant policy of the Biden administration as they intend to house and assist all asylum seekers, both illegal immigrants and other migrants, as a “right-to-shelter city”.
In his statement, he said: “New York has been and will always be a city of immigrants that welcomes newcomers with open arms. This value has made our city a beacon of freedom for people around the world and the economic and cultural powerhouse that it is. These very same humanitarian values apply to those who are experiencing homelessness. In New York City, we have both a moral and legal obligation to house anyone who is experiencing homelessness for any reason.”
Texas and other southern border states like Arizona have not been coping well with this influx as the Governor, Greg Abbott, said over $3 billion had been spent to make it more bearable for everyone. In addition, he faulted the crisis the southern border states are facing on the Biden administration as he said that it was during this administration that the records of illegal crossings drastically spiked.

The Governor had written a letter to the New York City mayor, Eric Adams, and Washington D.C mayor, Muriel Bowser, inviting them to visit the border to assess the crisis firsthand.
“Your recent interest in this historic and preventable crisis is a welcome development, especially as the President and his Administration have shown no remorse for their actions nor desire to address the situation themselves. As Governor, I invite you to visit our border region to see firsthand the dire situation that only grows more urgent with each passing day, and to meet with the local officials, who like yourselves, realize this matter deserves immediate federal action. I also ask you to join me in requesting President Biden secure the border and put an end to this disastrous crisis.”
The democrat mayor rejected this invitation and has refused to comment on this rejection, although he is known to be one of the democrats supporting this stupid “right to shelter city” movement.
The public is aware of the mayor’s support for this movement. However, his action to help has not been seen in any way, which makes all his words seem to be for a show. Adams claimed earlier that these migrants had been bused to the Big Apple from the Southern border states. However, Abbott has called him out on this as he said that only bus rides to the capital were organized for the migrants.
Though these southern border states have been spending a lot of their revenue on this influx affecting their economy, Adams has criticized these states as he blamed the crisis on the “callousness” of southern border states instead of the Biden administration for its immigration policy.
