Schiff Lets It Slip: If GOP Calls These Witnesses, Impeachment WIll Implode

After three months of delaying, stalling, and seeking leverage, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally transmitted the House-passed articles of impeachment to the Senate.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the impeachment trial in the upper chamber will begin next week.

While McConnell has made it clear Democrats will not be calling the shots in the Senate, that hasn’t stopped some of them from continuing to make demands.

One of them, naturally, is House Intel Chair Adam Schiff, who appeared on ABC’s “The View” to talk Democratic impeachment strategy going forward.

Co-host Abby Huntsman asked Schiff if he would testify if called as a witness, and if he thought calling 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, as witnesses was plausible.

Here’s what Schiff had to say in response to Huntsman’s question:

“Look, I’m not a fact witness so, other than mollifying the president, I’m not sure why the Senate would call me or Nancy Pelosi as a witness,” Schiff said. “There is not much light Joe Biden or Hunter Biden can shed on the president’s conduct.”

Huntsman said, “Then why not have them show up, if you have nothing to hide?”

“It would convert the Senate trial into the same kind of sham proceeding that the president sought to have Ukraine undertake,” Schiff responded.

Schiff is basically saying that if he or either of the Biden's are called to testify, it would ruin his impeachment witch hunt and that he does not think he should testify.

Firstly, Schiff is a “fact witness” considering actions taken by himself and his office’s shady direct dealings with the whistleblower and their advance knowledge of the whistleblower’s complaint well before anyone else knew.

Secondly, the purpose of having Joe and Hunter Biden testify would be to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Trump had legitimate concerns and was acting on behalf of American interests in inquiring about the hacked DNC server, the Burisma issue, and Joe Biden’s role in firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor.

McConnell has said he expects the Senate to conclude the Senate trial in about a month, with the president being fully acquitted.

This, of course, has sent Schiff and other deranged Democrats over the edge.
