The Supreme Court said on Friday that it will hear three cases over President Donald Trump’s financial records next year, and scheduled arguments for its March session.

The arguments are likely to be the most high-profile of the term, and will test the court’s newly constituted conservative majority. A decision is expected by the end of June, in the midst of the 2020 presidential election.

The cases are the first in which Trump’s personal dealings have come before the top court since he became president.

Trump asked the justices to reverse three lower court rulings that would require his longtime accounting firm and two of his banks to hand over financial records to investigators.

The nine-member panel has a 5-4 conservative majority, including two Trump appointees, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

In a statement released shortly after the announcement, President Trump's private counsel Jay Sekulow said “we are pleased that the Supreme Court granted review of the President’s three pending cases.”

“These cases raise significant constitutional issues. We look forward to presenting our written and oral arguments,” he said.

The announcement by the Supreme Court comes as House Democrats led by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced that they are filing articles of impeachment against President Trump, accusing him of "obstructing Congress" and "abuse of power."

“The framers of the Constitution prescribed a clear remedy for presidents who so violate their oath of office,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler. "No one, not even the president, is above the law.”

The key Democratic committee leaders, along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., outlined their plans in a brief and pointed statement to the media, and left without taking questions.

Nadler said the judiciary panel will introduce two articles "charging the president with high crimes and misdemeanors." He said the first is dedicated to "abuse of power," alleging the president has "exercised the powers of his office for his personal benefit while ignoring or injuring the public interest." Nadler said Trump put himself before country while endangering national security and America's democracy.

"Trump has engaged in unprecedented, categorical, and indiscriminate defiance of the impeachment inquiry," Nadler said.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said that the President left him "no choice."

"He has given us no choice," Schiff said. "To do nothing would make ourselves complicit in the president's abuse of his high office."

Shortly after the announcement was made, President Donald Trump punched back on Twitter saying, "WITCH HUNT!" This is the same term that he used for the Democrat Russian collusion conspiracy theory.

"Nadler just said that I 'pressured Ukraine to interfere in our 2020 Election.' Ridiculous, and he knows that is not true. Both the President & Foreign Minister of Ukraine said, many times, that there 'WAS NO PRESSURE.' Nadler and the Dems know this, but refuse to acknowledge!" Trump tweeted.
