The UN Gets It: World Faces 'Generational Catastrophe' as 1 Billion Kids Miss School

The vast majority of the time, the leadership and ‘legislative’ body of the United Nations actively work against American interests, and that is especially true in the era of President Donald “MAGA” Trump.
But every now and then our interests converge, as they have over the issue of sending kids back to school – yes, even in the age of the ‘planet-ending’ coronavirus.
Leftist Marxists in America who permeate the teacher’s unions, in conjunction with shutdown Democrats on the state and federal levels, are going out of their way to fight the Trump administration’s push to reopen our schools in a few weeks.
The White House’s policy on this has been the same throughout regarding coronavirus: It’s a state/local decision. But that said, the administration has also regularly discussed the deleterious effects of keeping children and teens out of in-person classes for a prolonged period of time.
Now, the UN’s chief, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, is warning that up to a billion kids could become a “generational” loss if they don’t return to school
The United Nations chief says the coronavirus pandemic has led to the largest disruption of education in history, with schools closed in more than 160 countries in mid-July affecting more than 1 billion students.
In addition, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Tuesday that at least 40 million children worldwide have missed out on education “in their critical pre-school year.”
As a result, he warned that the world faces “a generational catastrophe that could waste untold human potential, undermine decades of progress, and exacerbate entrenched inequalities.”
"We are at a defining moment for the world’s children and young people,” Guterres said in a video message accompanying a 26-page policy briefing. “The decisions that governments and partners take now will have lasting impact on hundreds of millions of young people, and on the development prospects of countries for decades to come.”
"We already faced a learning crisis before the pandemic," the Secretary-General said. "Now we face a generational catastrophe that could waste untold human potential, undermine decades of progress, and exacerbate entrenched inequalities."
"The Covid-19 pandemic has led to the largest disruption of education ever," he said, CNN added. "Despite the delivery of lessons by television, radio and online, and the best efforts of teachers and parents, many students remain out of reach."
Learners with disabilities, those in minority or disadvantaged communities, displaced and refugee students, and those in remote areas are at highest risk of being left behind, Guterres warned.
"And even for those who can access distance learning, success depends on their living conditions," Guterres said. "Parents, especially women, have been forced to assume heavy care burdens in the home."
So, when the Leftist UN gets it, how come American Leftists don’t?
Because in this case, at least, the UN chief isn’t trying to get Donald Trump voted out of office; he’s genuinely concerned for the welfare of a billion children whose educational opportunities are being purposely shunted by traffickers in fear porn for political gain.
