The "Woke" Mob Comes For The Washington Redskins As The NFL Turns Toxic

It is still over two months until the officially scheduled kickoff but the 2020 NFL season is already in smoking ruins due to a hostile takeover by the "woke" mob and its corporate backers.
The league was already in heap big trouble after Commissioner Roger Goodell ran up the white flag of surrender to social justice malcontents - most of whom don't watch football - by apologizing to the national anthem kneelers who destroyed the 2017 season when they alienated millions of fans.
Then on Thursday, in an additional capitulation to people who will never be satisfied and see each concession as a sign of weakness, it was reported that the NFL will play the song “Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing” which has been designated as the black national anthem before the Star-Spangled Banner.
Now one of the league's most storied franchises is under assault as the push for the Washington Redskins to change their team nickname has intensified into a full-blown war on the team that now has corporate sponsorship.
Shipping giant FedEx which holds the naming rights to the club's stadium in Landover, Maryland is demanding that the name is eradicated and replaced by a more politically correct moniker
Then in another escalation, athletic shoe colossus Nike has pulled the team's official merchandise, a gut-punch to owner Daniel Snyder who has resisted years of demands to bend the knee by changing the team's name.
The Washington Redskins have avoided changing the team's nickname for more than 50 years of political pressure. Politicians and human rights advocacy groups could not find a way to make it happen. But in a span of a few hours on Thursday, two major corporate sponsors may have sacked the team's ability to keep moving forward with its name.
First, FedEx demanded the team change its name from Redskins. Why is that significant? FedEx holds the naming rights to the team's stadium, and the company could pull it sponsorship worth many millions of dollars if the team doesn't comply.
And on Thursday night, Nike no longer carries any Washington Redskins merchandise on its website—although all other 31 teams in the NFL are represented.
The move comes after the top three Redskins sponsors—Nike, FedEx and PepsiCo—each received a letter Wednesday signed by 87 different investors and shareholders whose total net worth is $620 billion. They all urged the companies to pull their sponsorships unless the Redskins change their nickname.
The war on the Redskins has been joined by other global corporations including PepsiCo.
While the swamp's official NFL team has been under constant attack by liberals and was targeted by Barack Obama's corrupt Justice Department when Eric Holder was running the show, there has never been pressure like there is now.
Maybe it is only a coincidence but these developments come after Redskins defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio who supports President Trump refused to buckle to the mob like Drew Brees, he instead of infuriated the Twitter mob by telling them to "kiss my a**":
The team did not force Del Rio to get on his knees and grovel and there are clearly consequences for what is seen as an unforgivable act of defiance.
The Redskins have been the Redskins since before the team even relocated to the nation’s capital city way back in 1937. They were previously the Boston Redskins from the day of the team’s inception in 1932. But that matters nothing to those who are out for scalps.
Also, where is the outrage over the nicknames of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Blackhawks, Florida State Seminoles, Atlanta Braves and every other team that features a Native American name or image as their icon.
There is no similar outrage over what many believe to be one of the most bigoted of nicknames in all of sportsdom is that of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish which stereotypes white Irish Americans as drunken brawlers.
It couldn't be more obvious that the Redskins are being singled out as the NFL itself under the miserable tenure of Goodell has become poisonous.
