Stung by new revelations that make it appear as though Michael Flynn was set up by deep state operatives, President Donald Trump on Thursday defended his first national security adviser Thursday while blasting those behind the plot.

“What happened to General Michael Flynn, a war hero, should never be allowed to happen to a citizen of the United States again!” Trump tweeted.

As reported by The Epoch Times, the president was responding to evidence unsealed Wednesday which show an FBI official involved in the decision to conduct an unusual interview with Flynn questioning why the bureau was attempting to catch the incoming national security adviser in a lie rather than find the truth.

“What’s our goal? Truth/Admission or to—get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?” the official, who has not been identified, wrote in notes from January 2017.

It’s an abomination that an FBI agent would even have to ask such questions in the first place since, you know, they’re supposed to be looking for evidence of crimes, not creating crimes out of thin air on behalf of someone’s political agenda.

The Epoch Times noted further:

Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents during a Jan. 24, 2017, interview, but has since said he did not knowingly mislead the agents. Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell, said evidence in the newly released material show Flynn was “deliberately set up and framed by corrupt agents at the top of the FBI.”

Late Wednesday Flynn shared a short video showing an American flag. Trump shared the video, calling it “great!” He also took aim at former FBI Director James Comey, calling him a “DIRTY COP” who “GOT CAUGHT!”

And never forger that Comey admitted that he was in on setting Flynn up. During a Thursday morning interview with U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade played a video clip of Comey making the admission, saying he essentially took advantage of the early “chaos” of the incoming Trump administration to break protocol and send in FBI agents to entrap Flynn (start around the 7:15 mark)

Speaking at a 29018 event, a host told Comey that it was hard to imagine two FBI agents entering the White House to interview Flynn and wondered how it was allowed to happen.

“I sent them,” Comey responded to laughter from the audience.

Comey called the Trump administration disorganized, which led him to think: “It’s early enough, let’s just send a couple of guys over.”

“And so we placed a call to Flynn, said, hey, we’re sending a couple of guys over. Hope you’ll talk to them. He said, sure. Nobody else was there. They interviewed him in a conference room in the Situation Room, and he lied to them. And that’s what he’s now pled guilty to,” Comey said.

Well, that’s a different story than what the fired former FBI director told lawmakers in March 2017, according to the Washington Examiner:

According to two sources familiar with the meetings, Comey told lawmakers that the FBI agents who interviewed Flynn did not believe that Flynn had lied to them, or that any inaccuracies in his answers were intentional. As a result, some of those in attendance came away with the impression that Flynn would not be charged with a crime pertaining to the Jan. 24 [2017] interview.

But Flynn would later plead guilty to lying — why?

Turns out that, with this newly revealed evidence, the fix was in for Flynn no matter what. And subsequent reports indicated that he pleaded guilty to Robert Mueller’s prosecutors in order to avoid having his son dragged into the middle of the scandal.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says there is a lot more evidence regarding the set-up of Mike Flynn that’s going to come out. We have a feeling he already knows what it is.
