President Donald Trump has spent a great deal of time in recent weeks holding daily press conferences in order to keep Americans apprised of the progress being made against the COVID-19 pandemic, but they now appear to be coming to an end.

That’s because the self-absorbed propagandists in the ‘mainstream media’ have repeatedly demonstrated they’re not interested in keeping Americans informed, they’re only interested in making the president look bad.

As such, Trump has decided to cancel the daily briefings after being taking so badly out of context Friday that legitimately good news and information was lost in the process. The UK’s Daily Mail reported:

President Donald Trump has declared that the White House news conferences were ‘not worth the time and effort’ because the ‘Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions.’

The president announced on Twitter that the press conferences have become clown shows featuring Democratic Party activists posing as journalists.

“What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately,” he wrote Saturday. “They get record ratings, & the American people get nothing but Fake News. Not worth the time & effort!”

The president also reminded Americans — again — that he never called the coronavirus a “hoax,” but that his comment was directed specifically at Democrats.

No doubt the president is frustrated after being lied about — again — on Friday, when the establishment media and their Democrat masters claimed he told Americans to ‘ingest disinfectant’ to ‘cure themselves’ of coronavirus.

He said no such thing. Not even close.

But the Daily Mail’s reporting on it was typical:

Concerns grew after the president’s now infamous claims that injecting disinfectant could cure coronavirus.

Trump made the off-the-cuff remark during a Thursday press conference where he appeared to suggest that Covid 19 could be cured by using UV light inside the body – and by injecting disinfectants. …

The comments were quickly met with worldwide mockery and derision – and  was universally rejected by health experts who were quick to point out the dangers of injecting or ingesting bleach or other disinfectants. Even disinfectant manufacturers such as Lysol were forced to issue a statement warning their customers not to try and use their products as a ‘cure’.

The problem with the media’s focus on these inane, pointless ‘gotcha’ moments is that legitimate information has now been lost in the noise.

During the same Thursday briefing, President Trump brought Bill Bryan, Under Secretary for Science and Technology at the Department of Homeland Security, with him to discuss new research indicating the coronavirus is as vulnerable to some of the same substances as other viruses have been.

He said that research done by his agency shows the effects “that solar light appears to have on killing the virus, both surfaces and in the air. We’ve seen a similar effect with both temperature and humidity as well, where increasing the temperature and humidity or both is generally less favorable to the virus.”

Summer, in other words.

“We’re also testing disinfectants readily available,” Bryan noted further. “We’ve tested bleach, we’ve tested isopropyl alcohol on the virus, specifically in saliva or in respiratory fluids. And I can tell you that bleach will kill the virus in five minutes; isopropyl alcohol will kill the virus in 30 seconds, and that’s with no manipulation, no rubbing — just spraying it on and letting it go. You rub it and it goes away even faster. We’re also looking at other disinfectants, specifically looking at the COVID-19 virus in saliva.”

This is very important information that should have been at least one focus of Thursday’s presser. But no.

The media instead chose to take the president completely out of context instead, thereby robbing Americans of this information — information the media is supposed to be there to report.

No wonder Trump is ending the virus press conferences. Like previous press conferences, the media has turned them into nonsensical clown shows.
