Tucker blasts 'sham' letter from healthcare pros exempting George Floyd protesters from coronavirus lockdowns

For the past several weeks, conservatives and other liberty-minded Americans blasted Left-wing authoritarian governors in Michigan, California, New York, Illinois, and New Jersey for continuing to keep coronavirus-related ‘stay at home’ orders in place while locking businesses down.
In response, governors claimed that it was vital – vital, mind you – to keep those orders in place, even as states around them began to reopen, because lifting them too soon would cause a dreaded ‘second wave’ of COVID-19 infections and mass death.
Well, that hasn’t happened. But nevertheless, several states remain locked down and it’s no longer about ‘the science’ it’s about control.
That’s been proven time and again this past week as protesters flooded the streets of ‘locked down’ cities to righteously rail against the untimely death of Minneapolis man George Floyd at the hands of police.
But…but…what about the coronavirus? The ‘second wave?’ Doesn’t that matter anymore? Isn’t that still a thing?
Not according to hundreds of healthcare professionals who penned a letter this week excusing the protests.
Some 1,200 of them signed onto the letter in which they condemn people who defy stay-at-home orders unless they’re protesting on behalf of Floyd, because “those actions not only oppose public health interventions, but are also rooted in white nationalism and run contrary to respect for Black lives.”
During his Friday program, Fox News host Tucker Carlson called out the healthcare pros and their “sham” letter.
“In other words, anybody who complains about being locked down is a racist, except the people who refuse to be locked down because they are protesting racism. Heads, I win. Tails, you lose,” he said.
“These are public health officials,” he continued. “This is insanity. Just days ago you were told that any kind of gathering could kill thousands of people. You would be a murderer. You would be a genocidal murderer. That is before we learned that viruses have their own woke political agenda and the only rallies we should ban are those being held by people who have the wrong ideas, people who want to earn a living or go to church. Those protests are racism. Oh.”
“But this is a sham,” Carlson concluded. “It was a front for tyrants to inflict their personal neuroses and their desire for control on the United States of America and to do it outside the democratic process, outside democratic norms. Every person who signed this letter is a faker, none of them represents science, we should never listen to any of them again.”
Among the worst hypocrites is Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who has extended her original stay-at-home order five times, the latest extension lasting until June 12.
She actually joined protesters in the streets of Detroit this past week, in defiance of her own order, because, you know, the First Amendment only matters some of the time – like, when she says it does.
“Social distancing is critical to stop the spread of COVID-19 — unless you have a great photo op," state Rep. Lynn Afenoudlis, R-Grand Rapids Township, tweeted.
No doubt. And what of Michigan residents who have been protesting Whitmer’s stay-at-home order?
Well, she denounced those, of course, claiming they were racist and ‘violent’ – both of which were lies.
