Tulsi Gabbard Shreds Pelosi for not Sending Articles of Impeachment to the Senate

During an interview with Hill.TV on Thursday, moderate Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard shredded Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for not sending the articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate.
"Congresswoman, I also want to get your reaction to this," show host Saagar Enjeti started. "The House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has said that they may not even transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate if they don’t think that this process is fair. Does that make it just a blatantly political from the very beginning? If they don’t end up transmitting that, what message does that send about this entire process?"
"I was surprised to hear that. You can’t kind of just shift and change and make up the rules as you go along" Gabbard shredded. "If you’re going to pursue this process, you’ve got to let it play out the whole way through. Again, I think the hyper-partisan nature that we’ve seen throughout this whole thing — and again — this is not just on the part of the Democrats. You see it with those who are defending Donald Trump. You see blind loyalties to their party’s leader, who are proclaiming, “Yes, of course what Trump did was ‘perfect, nothing wrong.”” They’re not exercising their responsibility to the American people in providing legitimate oversight."
Gabbard continued: "On the Democratic side, you see such extreme language being used, basically accusing the president of treason without actually saying the word and tainting, therefore, any possibility of a truly impartial fact-finding inquiry. This is where, I think, the vast majority of American people are seeing right through this and are deeply frustrated that so much time and energy is being consumed on this when the challenges, issues, concerns, hopes, and dreams they have in their everyday lives are going unheard."

Shortly after House Democrats voted in favor of impeaching President Trump, Pelosi announced that she was considering holding onto the impeachment articles instead of sending them over to the Senate.
After the announcement was made, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell shredded Pelosi for her "shoddy work."
“This particular House of Representatives has let its partisan rage at this particular president create a toxic new precedent that will echo well into the future,” McConnell said according to Fox News.
“It’s like the prosecutors are getting cold feet in front of the entire country and second-guessing whether they even want to go to trial,” McConnell said in a 30-minute floor speech on Thursday morning.
"They said impeachment was so urgent that it could not even wait for due process but now they’re content to sit on their hands. It is comical."
It is becoming more and more clear that the House impeachment sham is a politically biased, hatred fueled scam considering the Speaker may withhold the articles of impeachment to delay the Senate trial; another hyper-partisan move.
Here are some top highlights from McConnell's speech:
Pelosi claims that she may not send the impeachment articles to the Senate because the Republicans are the ones who are too biased.
“So far we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us,” Pelosi said. “That would’ve been our intention, but we’ll see what happens over there.”
“Pelosi’s comments, which echo suggestions raised by other Democrats throughout the day, inject new uncertainty into the impeachment timetable and send the House and Senate lurching toward a potential institutional crisis,” Politico reported.
“Though the House adopted two articles of impeachment charging Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of congressional investigations, it must pass a second resolution formally naming impeachment managers to present the case in the Senate. That second vehicle triggers the official transmission of articles to the Senate.”
“In 1998, minutes after the House impeached President [Clinton], the House approved a secondary resolution which dispatched the articles of impeachment, plus the impeachment managers to the Senate. Nobody thought much about it,” said Fox News reporter Chad Pergram.
“Pelosi is always deft at finding a wedge. So she’s willing to hold onto the articles of impeachment to see if McConnell/Schumer can come to an agreement for a fair trial – and not tilt the field toward the President in the GOP-controlled Senate.”
Pelosi claiming that Republicans are the biased ones is quite bizarre considering her fellow House Democrats held secret impeachment hearings where Republicans were not allowed. They also impeached a sitting President where he committed no impeachable crimes.
Pergram continued: “Some polling reveals that impeachment is really hurting Democrats. Perhaps this was Pelosi’s gambit all along. Impeach the President. Take a stand for the Constitution. But apply an emergency hand brake on impeachment by not sending the articles to the Senate.”
