On Tuesday, Alameda County officials were finally forced to allow Elon Musk to re-open his Tesla Fremont, California factory after they had singled him out and not allowed him to re-open.

The decision, of course, comes a bit too late for Alameda County officials; Tesla opened its Fremont, California, plant on Tuesday and is looking to ramp up production of both its electric vehicles and electric batteries despite state-level coronavirus lockdowns.

California is allowing some industrial activities to resume, but counties, like Alameda, are given leeway in restricting local businesses further, if they feel it would prevent or slow the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Alameda, of course, took advantage of that power, shutting down the county and sidelining Musk’s Fremont assembly plant.

On Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump decided to weigh in on the situation unfolding in California between Musk and Alameda county.

“California should let Tesla & [Elon Musk] open the plant, NOW. It can be done Fast & Safely,” President Trump tweeted.

Musk quickly responded to the President's tweet by saying, "Thank you!"

Check out what the Daily Wire reported at the time:

While Tesla has been allowed to resume business under the California reopening guidelines, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has encouraged public health officials to adopt stricter measures as deemed appropriate. Alameda County, where Tesla’s Fremont plant is located, is one such California county that has opted to do so.

After Tesla told employees last Thursday that the company would begin to resume operations the following day, Dr. Erica Pan, the interim public health officer for Alameda County, claimed that Tesla was prohibited from re-opening.

On Monday, Musk issued a tweet where he announced that he would be defying the county's orders and would be opening up the plant immediately.

"Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me," Musk tweeted.

The comments came after Musk filed a lawsuit against Alameda County, California, after they blocked him from re-opening his Fremont factory despite them lifting regulations on other businesses.

Musk also revealed that he would "immediately" be moving his Tesla headquarters to Nevada or Texas considering Alameda county refused to let him re-open his factory.

"Frankly, this is the final straw," Musk tweeted. "Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA."

Musk has clearly had enough with California's anti-capitalistic behavior which is why he is planning on leaving the state, citing that Alameda county's rules are "irrational" and "in violation of constitutional civil liberties."

“I’m not messing around," Musk said on Saturday. "Absurd & medically irrational behavior in violation of constitutional civil liberties, moreover by *unelected* county officials with no accountability, needs to stop.”
