Why do Democrat officials always seem so insufferable? From the local level to Governors like Newsom, to the king of insufferability himself, Obama, they just all think they are better than us.

The local officials (city councils, school boards, county boards) are probably the worst these days. So brainwashed by their media and social media bubbles, they actually believe they have a license to commit the most horrible offenses against common courtesy and the rule of law.

The Western Journal reported on the latest example of an aspiring “elite” behaving like a sanctimonious fool–Beverly Perkins, the Vice Mayor form Pompano Beach, Florida. Perkins was pulled over for speeding in Fort Lauderdale, a neighboring city about a 20-minute drive from her hometown. The officers were going to give Perkins a written warning, but she cursed at them and drove off before they could accomplish that.

“What’s going on tonight?” the officer says as he walks up to the white Audi Perkins was driving.

“Nothing,” Perkins says.

“Nothing? You’re driving crazy,” the officer replies.

“Ms. Perkins, you need to slow down, OK? There’s going to be … a warning about speeding, OK?” the officer says. “Did you hear what I said?”

“Did you hear what I said? You’ve got to slow down. I’m writing you a warning for speeding tonight, OK?” the officer says.

“I am Vice Mayor Beverly Perkins from the city of Pompano Beach. Y’all need to find something better to f***ing do,” Perkins says as she speeds off.

The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) took to social media to call out the Vice Mayors unacceptable behavior tweeting, “We hope Vice Mayor Perkins was just having a bad day….”

The FOP quoted Perkins in their tweet, invited her for ride alongs with the officer, and posted a video of the interaction.

The Fort Lauderdale FOP had a similar message for Perkins, which they posted to Facebook, stating:

“Madam Vice Mayor Beverly Perkins, instead of attacking the hard-working Fort Lauderdale Police Department Officers and resorting to using profanity, we suggest you apologize and then sign up for some ride alongs to see what they do every day to protect the citizens of our great city.”

As an elected official, you too, are held to a higher standard and should know better. If that is not something you can bring yourself to do, we suggest you obey the speed limit and seek anger management.

The Fort Lauderdale FOP also took to twitter to post a link to a story on Perkins “non-apology apology” at a city commission meeting. The post links to a redbroward.com story, which informs that the meeting was “raucous” and Perkins supporters attempted to make it a racial issue.

If you were already thinking about how that apology sounded and guessed that Perkins somehow made it everyone else’s fault for her egregious lack of decorum and respect for the rule of law, then give yourself a chicken dinner.

After stating she had complied with the instructions given by the officers, Perkins added, “If any exchange on my part, the conversation with the police officer, is perceived as being disrespectful, then I do apologize.”

That magic “if” word. “If…it is perceived”. In other words, it is your fault if you think Perkins was anything but gracious and compliant.

It certainly seems as if Perkins expects the media to pick up the assist and cover for her. Turn it into a racial issue and label anyone that questions Perkins’ behavior as a racist. Why wouldn’t she, it works for so many others.
