While Democrats smear Republicans for wanting to bail out some of America’s most vital companies to help workers as well as the overall economy, Democratic Representative Jerry Nadler is focused on giving billions of dollars to museums in New York City.
“NYC isn’t NYC without our non-profit museums. But if we want our museums to survive COVID-19, we need to protect them NOW. That’s why I led the NYC Congressional delegation with @RepMaloney in calling for $4 billion in emergency funds to equip museums to outlast this pandemic,” Nadler tweeted on Monday.
Nadler immediately got roasted on Twitter.
“Think about this for a moment. Democrats in power want to keep the average person on the brink of financial collapse so they can provide a financial handout in exchange for your vote using your money,” said one Twitter user.
“Good thing I’ll be able to go to the museum when I can’t pay my rent or afford to buy food. #EatTheRich,” said another.
This statement by Nadler comes at no surprise considering Democrats have made it completely clear that they intend on using the coronavirus crisis to sneak through some of their far-left agendas.
The President and Washington Republicans have been working tirelessly on the stimulus bill that would help American workers through this tough time.
Instead of helping out the American people, Democrats like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are taking the opportunity to promote issues that are completely unrelated to fighting the coronavirus pandemic and the negative impact it has had on the American economy.
“Via senior GOP aide, Schumer/Pelosi now pushing these demands amid pandemic-fueled economic collapse: 1) Unprecedented collective bargaining powers for unions 2) Increased fuel emissions standards for airlines 3) Expansion of wind and solar tax credits,” tweeted Fox News contributor Guy Benson.
A source close to the matter writes, “not only are these completely unrelated to the coronavirus epidemic, they could prevent companies from participating in the loan programs altogether—directly causing unnecessary layoffs.”
On Tuesday, President Trump hammered the Democrats over their politicization of the coronavirus relief package as they made the stimulus bill about partisan issues including the Green New Deal.
“This is not about the ridiculous Green New Deal,” Trump tweeted. “It is about putting our great workers and companies BACK TO WORK!”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had similar comments while he was speaking on the Senate floor.
“Democrats won’t let us fund hospitals or save small businesses until they get to dust off the Green New Deal,” McConnell said. “This has got to stop. And today is the day it has to stop. The country is out of time.”
On Tuesday the President also tweeted, “Congress must approve the deal, without all of the nonsense, today. The longer it takes, the harder it will be to start up our economy. Our workers will be hurt!”
