White House Announces Replacement For Sarah Sanders As Press Secretary

The White House revealed on Tuesday afternoon who the administration has selected to replace Sarah Huckabee Sanders as the press secretary.

First Lady Melania Trump took to Twitter to announce that her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, will take over as White House press secretary.

The announcement comes a week after Sanders revealed that she will be leaving her position at the end of the month.

In a previous report from The Daily Wire, three sources spoke highly of Grisham, who has been serving as the White House Director of Communications for First Lady Melania Trump.

Grisham has been referred to as a "stone cold killer" who has been a loyal soldier to Trump dating all the way back to the campaign trail in 2015.

One source told The Daily Wire:

"Stephanie is one of the last remaining Trump 'originals' in the White House. She’s been with him since the beginning, is unquestionably loyal and has the respect of the press corps. She’d be a total home run as press secretary — both for the President and his supporters."

The second source added:

Grisham "has proven herself to be a stone-cold killer" and that "no one else comes close" to being able to match Grisham in her ability to command problems that arise.
Grisham is a "risk-free move for the administration in the run-up to perhaps the most important election in American history."

A third source who previously worked for the Trump administration said:

"Stephanie Grisham is a favorite of Trump loyalists, many in the national press corps, and most important, the Trump family. The First Lady loves Stephanie’s tenacity and loyalty, and President Trump has remarked that he respects Stephanie’s ability to stay cool under pressure and manage the toughest of news cycles. Stephanie might not be the first name that comes to mind for this role, but she’s the one person inside or outside the building who everyone nods their head and says, 'She’d be great.'"

During an event last week at the White House, Trump gave Sanders an emotional farewell and thanked her for all of her hard work.

"After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas," Trump said.

"She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas - she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!" he added.

"We've been through a lot together and she's tough, but she's good," Trump said.

While Sanders will be stepping down in the coming days, she won't be out of the political spotlight for long.

According to recent reports, Sanders is seriously considering running for governor in her home state of Arkansas when the seat is open in 2022.

She certainly has a strong chance of winning if she runs.

And now Trump will have another "stone-cold killer" serving as his press secretary.
